Two Women Charged for Making False Claims Following Indiana State Fair Stage Collapse.
Sadly, there will always be a few bad apples who attempt to make selfish gains from the misfortune of others. Thankfully, in this case, two women who made false claims in order to get free money following the Indiana State Fair stage collapse have been caught — and are being charged. According to Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry, Stephanie Murry, 25, and Sandra Hurn, 38, of Indianapolis attempted to collect money from both the State Fair Remembrance Fund and the Indiana Tort Claim Fund, though it is believed that neither of the two women were at the fair on the night of the stage collapse.
The pair attempted to collect a total of $22,500 from the available funds. Murry and Hurn claim to have been injured in the crash, which killed seven and injured 58 others just minutes before country duo Sugarland were due to take the stage.
Hurn, who was able to collect a total of $7,500 from the remembrance fund, is looking at a maximum of 36 years in prison if convicted on charges of forgery, perjury, theft and attempted theft. While Murry was denied money because she did not meet the qualifications, she is still looking at a maximum of 14 years behind bars. In order to catch the crooks, officials ‘approved’ both of the women’s requests — and arrested them when they came to get their checks.
“It is particularly troubling that individuals would attempt to illegally profit upon a tragedy such as the State Fair stage collapse. We have zero tolerance for those who wish to gain at the misfortune of others,” Curry said in a statement. “We will not stand idly by while greedy individuals take from those who are truly deserving of compensation from this tragedy.”

Loretta Lynn Is ‘Doing Well’ After Hospitalization.
Loretta Lynn, suffering from the early stages of pneumonia, was hospitalized this weekend and forced to cancel concert dates. According to an update posted to Lynn’s official website on Saturday night, the 76-year-old is currently “doing well”. Doctors have diagnosed her as the beginning stages pneumonia, and will continue to need rest,” the statement reads. “Loretta is doing well and is disappointed but feels confident she will be ready for upcoming November dates.” This summer,Lynn — the legend behind ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter,’ who’s been a staple in country music for over 50 years — found herself calling off several tour dates due to knee surgery. She also dealt with a bout of exhaustion and dehydration back in July. It’s unclear whether Lynn is recuperating back at home or if she’s still in the hospital at press time. If the statement on her website remains accurate and Lynn’s health continues to improve, she’ll be back on the road as early as November 3, when she’s expected to perform in Knoxville, Tenn. Tour dates continue on through early December, and then pick back up again in mid-February.

Rodney Atkins Follows Garth Brooks’ ‘Genuine’ Example.
Rodney Atkins makes it a point to always spend time signing autographs, posing for photographs, playing charity events and otherwise reaching out to his fans. Now that the title track of Atkins’ October 4 release, ‘Take a Back Road,’ has become his fastest rising single ever, don’t expect any of that to change. He points to one of his musical idols, Garth Brooks, as an example he will continue to follow.

Randy Travis Collapsed On Stage Last Sunday . . . But He's Okay.
RANDY TRAVIS collapsed during his performance on Sunday in Fort Worth, Texas. Fortunately, several doctors were in the house and able to check him out immediately. Turns out Randy had a serious allergic reaction to some over-the-counter medicines. After shaking it off, he was given the okay to go home. He did not finish the concert. According to reports, Randy was in the middle of performing his song "Three Wooden Crosses" when he suddenly stopped and told the crowd, quote, "My vocal chords are giving out on me."
The band continued to play, but when he tried to join in on the chorus, he stumbled forward and fell. That's when the doctors hit the stage to check him out. After a few minutes Randy got up, gave a thumbs up, and then left the venue. Here's the official statement, quote, "Mr. Travis was overcome by a combination of dehydration, over-the-counter allergy medications, and caffeine use. This, combined with the heat of the stage lights, caused him to pass out." Randy is currently "resting comfortably at home" and he expects to honor all of his tour dates.

Taylor Swift is Releasing a Live Concert DVD . . . And She'll Be on "60 Minutes"!
Now we know why TAYLOR SWIFT has been dragging a video crew around on her "Speak Now" tour. She's releasing a live CD and DVD capturing all the magic of the trek. It's going to drop November 21st. Speaking of Taylor Swift. LESLEY STAHL and the "60 Minutes" crew have been following her around for a segment that's going to air . . . eventually. I don't know when. But an educated guess would be in November, around when the DVD drops.

Taylor Swift Does Not Perform With "Cutthroat" People.
All kinds of big stars have been showing up on stage with TAYLOR SWIFT on her current tour. It's not by accident, obviously. She has to call first to see if they're up for it. So Taylor was asked why she picks who she does. She said, quote, "I really tend to go and gravitate towards the nice people in whatever genre I'm kind of hanging out in at the time. "If I'm in L.A., the people I'm going to call and come hang out and play a song in my show are the nice people that I've had really great experiences with, who've been awesome and sincere. "That’s the same thing in Nashville. The people who I look up to, the people who've been wonderful to me and the people who I consider friends are the nice ones, who love being in this community and love all of the other artists. "They’re not cutthroat. They're the ones who will come and help you out, and sing a song for the crowd at your show."

Big and Rich’s Big Kenny Makes ‘Xtreme’ Entrance by Skydiving Into Nashville Show!
As fans filtered into Nashville’s Fontanel Woods Amphitheater on September 2, for the Big and Rich / Gretchen Wilson co-headlining Xtreme Muzik performance, they got an added bonus. Thirty-thousand feet above, a plane circled, and finally, Big and Rich’s Big Kenny took his leap onto the field below with five other representatives of Operation Finally Home, an organization that honors wounded and disabled veterans and widows of fallen soldiers with new homes. Upon their landing in the meadow outside the amphitheater, two more jumpers came in flying carrying larger than life size American flags. “Yeah!” Big Kenny exclaimed with both fists held high above his head. “If you haven’t done that before, go do it tomorrow! See the Xtreme Muzik show, and then go skydiving!” “It was such an amazing feeling,” Big Kenny told Taste of Country after his big jump. “That was probably up there with any other entrance I’ve ever done for a show, actually. That was the biggest American flag ever flown. I’m excited about getting on stage tonight.”
Following Kenny’s landing and an acoustic performance from newcomer Bradley Gaskin (who is being produced by Big and Rich’s John Rich), the dynamic duo and the Redneck Woman took the stage for a night filled with ‘Xtreme’ entertainment. To make the night even more special for the fans, Big and Rich and Wilson took all proceeds from their performance and donated it to Operation Finally Home.

Eric Church Kicked Out A Bone-Headed Security Guard At One Of His Shows
Looks like KEITH URBAN'S zero tolerance toward security guards harassing fans has rubbed off on ERIC CHURCH. Eric kicked out a thick-headed guard who went over the top on an innocent fan. It happened last month at Eric's show in Aberdeen, Washington, when a female fan approached the stage wanting him to sign her boot. Eric explains, quote, "She wasn't hurting anything. "She threw me her boot and the security guard tried to manhandle her. I got real irritated. I stopped singing, but the band kept playing (so) I couldn't get his attention." Eric tried THROWING the boot AT the guard in hopes he'd get the message, but the dude was clueless. Eric asked the woman to bring the boot up again, and that's when the guard went over the line. Eric says, quote, "She brought the boot to me and I'll be damned if he didn't try to kick her out again. By that time, I had lost it. So I stopped the show and had my guys kick the security guard out. The fans loved it. "I never had an encounter like that with a security guard. I wasn't sad when he was gone."

"Older Ladies" Like to Shake It For Luke Bryan.
When LUKE BRYAN released his song "Country Girl (Shake It For Me)", he fully expected to see fans at his concerts, well, shaking it for him. But he had no idea that a good many of those fans would be, mature ladies, so to speak. Luke says, "It's fun to see your unexpected characters from time to time, the older ladies that surprise you with wanting to shake it a little bit. "The main thing is you see a lot of people out there having a great time and just truly, truly, having a blast and letting their hair down and not worrying about what people are thinking."

Zac Brown Likes to Ride a Harley Around the Parking Lot at his Concerts!
Next time you're milling about the parking lot at a ZAC BROWN BAND concert keep your eyes peeled for some dude on a Harley wearing a helmet. It's probably ZAC BROWN checking out what the real people are up to. Zac says, quote, "I absolutely love being on a motorcycle. In a helmet, nobody knows who I am. I can ride right through the tailgating with a helmet on, and it's just like you're invisible. "I can observe firsthand what's going on at our shows and at these KENNY (CHESNEY) shows and get to see it. I just get out and ride around the tailgating. There's no other way to do it."

Tim McGraw Doesn't Know How He Broke His Foot.
Turns out TIM MCGRAW has no idea how he broke his foot. He tells CMT.com, quote, "I don't know if it happened running or in the part of the show where I jump off speakers. It could've happened any number of ways." As you know, Tim is a workout freak so when he first started experiencing pain he tried to "man up" and power through it. But that just made it worse. He explains, quote, "I kept running and kept working out and kept doing shows. "And for a couple weeks, it just kept getting worse and worse, and it finally got to where I couldn't walk, and it was really swollen." Tim's wife FAITH HILL eventually put her own foot down and insisted he go to the doctor. That's when he found out it was serious. Tim said, quote, "It started out as a stress fracture, and I kept pounding it, pounding it and pounding it, and it got worse and worse." Tim is supposed to wear a corrective boot for four more weeks, but that could stretch out longer if he doesn't STOP exercising like a mad man. He said, quote, "I think I'm not taking care of it as well as I should. "I still work out. I have a machine that's sort of like an elliptical, but it's a seated elliptical that I use a couple of times a day. Nothing replaces running, but at least it's something. And I can still lift."

Tim McGraw Yanked A Drunk Woman Out of The Crowd on Saturday!
TIM MCGRAW has no patience for unruly fans. Even drunk ones that are kind of cute. Tim yanked a wasted young woman from his show last Saturday at The Gorge near Quincy, Washington and had her removed from the venue!Yakima's KDBL "The Bull" offered up a pretty detailed report of what went down. According to the story, two girls wanted to get a high five from Tim as he approached the edge of the stage so they bulldozed their way past the aforementioned drunk chick. That set her off so she tossed her drink on them and some of it hit two other dudes who were standing nearby. That's when tempers flared. Tim saw it all go down, so he stopped the show and tried to restore peace. By now the two guys were cussing out the drunk girl and possibly threatening her. Tim decided it was time to yank the wasted chick completely out of the crowd. And then he ALSO had security remove the two guys. They argued their point but Tim would have none of it. He kept saying, "You've got no choice in the matter." As is the norm these days, somebody recorded much of the action and put it on YouTube.

Keith Urban Will Be Reacting With the Crowd Even More Than Usual on his "Get Closer" Tour
If you've always wanted to get super close to KEITH URBAN, then I suggest you spring for main floor seats to his "Get Closer" tour. Keith is setting up FIVE different stages at each show so he can be close to as many fans as possible. And get this, one of the stages will be set up in a different part of the crowd each night. Keith explains, quote, "I figured out the idea of the moving stage and it will never be in the same place twice. One that's tiny and moveable every night and it allows me to go anywhere in the arena from night to night. It's always different." As you may recall, Keith hates the notion of security guards getting between him and the audience. He says, quote, "I want the (fans) to feel liberated, that they can do whatever they want to do. If they want to dance and scream and cheer, they should be able to do that and not feel like someone's going to come and tell them to sit down. "I'm just trying to make sure that everybody no matter where they're sitting feels connected to what we're doing. I want to play with everybody; I don't want to play at them. The audience reaction is a huge part of our show."

Keith Urban Is Not Bothered When His Fans Scratch Him or Rip His Clothes
KEITH URBAN is known for running into the crowd during his concerts and mixing it up with his adoring fans. And he's actually going to take that up a notch for the next leg of his "Get Closer" world tour, which kicks off June 16th in Biloxi, Mississippi. Keith explains, quote, "This tour is not just called 'Get Closer', it's literally gonna be that, too. I'm going into the crowd on several occasions." I've seen video of Keith going into the crowd and it always seems like a lot of fun. Maybe it is, but it's also more dangerous than it looks. Keith explains, quote, "Maybe from the outside it looks very different, but the lost buttons and ripped sleeves testify to something very different. "I've come home a few times with scratches on my chest and on my back, and my wife's gone, 'What is that?' And I'm like, 'Well, I'll show you,' and we've filmed the audience. "She's like, 'Oh my god!' It can be a bit treacherous out there sometimes, but it's always different, always unpredictable, and I love it."

NFL Players Are Locked Out of . . . Kenny Chesney's Stadium Shows!
Here's a pretty random effect of the NFL lockout. No NFL players are allowed to walk into a KENNY CHESNEY show . . . or any event for that matter . . . if it's being held at an NFL stadium. It already happened last week at his concert in Tampa. Kenny says, quote, "We had all baseball players there. We had a lot of Phillies, Red Sox and Yankees who were down there for spring training. "(But) if you're in the NFL, you're in the (contract) lockout: You can't go to your stadium, you can't work out at your stadium, you can't talk to your coaches." Kenny has 10 more NFL stadium shows left on his itinerary this year.

You don't often hear the words "country music" and "stage diving" in the same sentence. But that doesn't mean you'll never see it happen. In fact, DIERKS BENTLEY went for it at his concert Friday night in New Jersey. He even Tweeted a photo of the action. (--Here it is.)
